"Sunflower" by Gregory Huff

LOOM DUDE

Sunflower  is an example of my loom knitting imagination and ability! In 2008 I wanted to create some unique Christmas gifts for my family and friends. At first I was going to make a quilt. But I never made a quilt before, and it was such an ambitious project to undertake in such a short amount of time that I decided to make scarves instead. I had always wanted a knitting machine since childhood, and this seemed like the perfect time to get one. I went to my local department store but only saw looms there, not knitting machines. But a trip to a thrift store provided me with the inexpensive knitting machine I was looking for! I tried it out, but I was disappointed with the process and the results. So I figure, why not give the loom a try?

I bought the Knifty Knitter purple loom and knit my very first scarf. It was a great success, and I went on to make 9 more, including one for myself! Needless to say, the knitting bug had bitten me. But it wasn't until 2009 that the loom knitting fever started to take over, and now I want to knit all year long.
